Upper Cumberland Development District has an opening for a TSBDC Small Business Specialist. The Small Business Specialist is a business professional with the experience and willingness to help existing and aspiring entrepreneurs realize their full potential. The SBDC SBS should have a diverse business background, bringing the breadth and depth of his/her experience to bear on the problems faced by today’s entrepreneurs.
Duties include:
- Conduct extensive business development functions
- Developing a business or strategic plan with clients
- Plans, conducts, and coordinates training workshops and seminars for clients/ county chambers.
- Documents client visits, progress, and economic impact in the center’s IC database.
- Develops and helps clients prepare loan applications.
- Learns how to navigate resources that can provide business valuations, customer lists, site analysis, and demographic and competitor information.
- Analyzing or creating current market strategies for clients.
- Exploring financing options and assisting in developing financial plans for banks and investors.
- Willingness to work with business partners in the Upper Cumberland for the betterment of the small business ecosystem.

- Comfort in leading trainings across the region
- Willingness to Travel
The successful applicant will possess a degree in business or a business-related field or program and entrepreneurial experience.
