Upper Cumberland Development District has an opening for a GIS Technician. The GIS Technician will obtain, analyze, catalog, maintain, and provide regional demographic and economic data and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data relevant to the mission of the UCDD, UCHRA, and the communities of the Upper Cumberland Region.
Duties include:
- Provide GIS and data services not limited to but including: collection, retrieval, analysis, archival, maintenance, and cloud services
- Maintain TACIR (Tennessee Advisory Committee on Intergovernmental Relations) data
- Other duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of GIS methods, applications, and theory
- Knowledge of common data formats
- Ability to use ESRI brand GIS software: ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcScene, ArcMap Online
- Ability to use productivity software, with emphasis on spreadsheets
The successful applicant will possess a bachelor’s degree in Earth Science, Geography, or Geographic Information Systems (preferred); a related degree may be considered
