Upper Cumberland Development District has an opening for a Transportation Planner. The Transportation Planner will act as a liaison between local elected officials and the Tennessee Department of Transportation and will assist local governments in all aspects of transportation planning.
Duties include:
- Develop and maintain reports and studies to coordinate transportation planning efforts
- Communicate on a regular basis with communities, stakeholders, and partners
- Serve as a central point for receiving and providing input on multi-modal needs for RPO
- Serve as a clearing house for information and data gathered
- Create and maintain a database of RPO members, stakeholders, and interested parties
- Publicize and facilitate regular and special meetings of the Technical Committee and Executive Board
- Provide technical assistance and administration for transportation-related grant programs
Qualifications:
- Possess good oral and written communication skills with basic knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and number style
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal directions
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Experience working with state/federal government programs
