It’s lights, camera, action for a new collaborative project between Upper Cumberland Development District, Upper Cumberland Tourism Association, Tennessee Tech University, and WCTE PBS. Wish You Were Here: Adventures in Tennessee’s Upper Cumberland, a new television program highlighting tourist attractions throughout the Upper Cumberland region, will make its on-air debut Thursday, May 19 at 8:30 p.m. on WCTE PBS channel 22. 

“The Upper Cumberland region is home to some of the most biodiverse geography, culture, and history in the southeast United States,” said Hannah Carroll, UCDD’s Tourism Recovery Coordinator. “This tourism series showcases the natural beauty and unique businesses offered throughout the Upper Cumberland region.” 

Wish You Were Here: Adventures in Tennessee’s Upper Cumberland is an eight-episode tourism television series championing the beautiful and unique amenities offered throughout the 14-county Upper Cumberland region, showcasing some of the most biodiverse geography and sites in the southeastern United States. The wide variety of activities and amenities available in the Upper Cumberland region offers something for everyone. 

The series will be hands-on and feature a correspondent at each location that will interact with local experts and guides on a variety of topics unique to the Upper Cumberland including the many state parks, water reservoirs, historic sites, natural landmarks, and family-owned and operated businesses.

The first episode of the eight-episode series of Wish You Were Here Adventures in Tennessee’s Upper Cumberland airs Thursday, May 19 at 8:30 PM on WCTE PBS channel 22. A new episode will air each month and can also be streamed at www.wcte.org.
