Smith has played a pivotal part in raising awareness about the ongoing childcare challenges in the Upper Cumberland and actively works towards enhancing accessibility to affordable childcare services. Her commitment to community development and her outstanding contributions have been recognized, leading to her promotion to Assistant Director of Economic Development.

Expressing her gratitude, Smith said, “I am both honored and excited to expand my responsibilities and take on the role of Assistant Director of Economic Development at UCDD. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the continued success and growth of our region.”

Rosa acknowledges the support she has received throughout her professional journey over the last year and is committed to upholding the high standards of excellence that UCDD is known for. She says she looks forward to working collaboratively with the team to achieve collective goals and is eager to bring her skills, energy, and dedication to this new role.

“I look forward to the challenges and responsibilities that come with this position, and I am confident that together we will achieve new heights of success. Thank you for entrusting me with this important role, and I am excited to contribute to the continued success of our team,” Smith added.

UCDD is confident that Smith’s leadership will contribute significantly to the organization’s mission and objectives in the realm of economic development.

“The Economic Development Team is lucky to have someone with as much passion and dedication as Rosa has exhibited during her time at UCDD,” said Megan Choate, UCDD’s Director of Lending and Economic Development. “She naturally leads and always goes above and beyond for her clients and co-workers. I am excited to have her step into the role of Assistant Director where she can provide greater support and leadership to the dedicated members of the Economic Development team.”
