Grading work of approximately eight acres in the Clarkrange Regional Business Park (CRBP) is now complete. Local Industrial Development Board (IDB) members gathered at the site, located in southern Fentress County, recently to mark the occasion.

“We are excited to have this major step completed,” said Joe Wheeler, IDB Chairman. “Having a site in the business park graded greatly increases our capability to meet the needs of our industrial partners.”

The IDB worked closely with the Upper Cumberland Development District (UCDD) to secure a $500,000 Site Development Grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. This construction project consisted of mass-grading lots 3 and 4 within CRBP. The completion of this project positions the community as a strong competitor when responding to requests for information from potential businesses seeking suitable space for location or relocation to Fentress County.

CRBP features 241 developable acres of vacant land and is conveniently located near Highway 127 and the Jamestown Municipal Airport. The property provides Fentress County industrial inventory that is available for existing businesses to expand to and outside companies to locate, ultimately creating jobs for the residents of the area.

“It is vital to the Upper Cumberland region that communities prioritize industrial preparedness and it is a privilege to work alongside counties who are proactive in creating quality industrial products,” said Megan Choate, UCDD’s Director of Economic Development.

Fentress County Government was an important partner in the completion of the project, contributing to the local match. The IDB and the Fentress County Government partnered together to fund the local portion of the project.

“I am extremely thankful to the Industrial Development Board for their ongoing efforts to develop the Business Park and create quality job opportunities for our residents,” said Jimmy Johnson, Fentress County Executive. “I am very grateful to have a pro-business county commission that eagerly supports the work of the IDB. We look forward to welcoming the future company that will call CRBP home.”
