On March 17, the Area Agency on Aging and Disability (AAAD) Advisory Board held its first in-person meeting held since the onset of the 2020 pandemic.
Twelve board members attended in-person and two joined virtually.
During the meeting, staff reviewed and received input on the AAAD’s FY22 Area Plan which is due to the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability by April 1.
The Area Plan includes accomplishments achieved to-date for FY21; goals, objectives, strategies, and performance measures for FY22; proposed subcontracts for FY22 services; proposed nutrition sites for FY22; and updates related to staffing and board composition.
In other business, Tyler McCullar and Amanda Smith, State Health Insurance Assistance Program staff, provided an overview of the program, successes related to the most recent Medicare Part D open enrollment period, and new outreach and volunteer recruitment plans.
