The Upper Cumberland Development District/Area Agency on Aging and Disability has an opening for a District Public Guardian. The District Public Guardian will act as a Court-Appointed Conservator or Durable Power of Attorney for clients; make financial and/or health-related decisions for clients; and may act as the fiduciary agent with regard to conservatorship services. The District Public Guardian will prepare financial reports to be filed with courts; manage property; make court appearances and ensure client records and case notes are complete.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor of Science degree in human services or a related field, preferred; and
- At least (2) two years of successful employment in a field related to public guardianship activities, such as social services, law, financial institutions, and/or health care or other related fields; and
- Proficient computer skills; and
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- Complete the National Guardianship Association (NGA) Fundamentals Series distributed by the NGA within forty-five (45) days of hire; and
- Complete training in Tennessee conservator and guardianship law with the State Coordinator
