The Upper Cumberland Development District/Area Agency on Aging and Disability (AAAD) has an opening for a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Coordinator. The SNAP Coordinator will provide information about SNAP / Food Stamp eligibility, application procedures, and benefits for potentially eligible low-income older adults; participate in or host monthly community education sessions at places that low-income seniors frequent; collaborate with other service providers to serve potentially eligible, non-participating households; assist individuals with the application process including the gathering of necessary documents, and tracking the status of each application and provide the individual with the application’s status.

Qualifications include:

  • Prefer an Associate’s degree in sociology or a related field, or a minimum of five (5) years of related experience; and
  • Proficient computer skills; and
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
