Upper Cumberland Development District has an opening for Deputy Finance Director. The Deputy Finance Director must at all times be aware of the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Upper Cumberland Development District. The Assistant Director of Finance will utilize the mission, vision, and values as parameters for professional development, business activities, and professional conduct.

Duties include:

  • Prepares invoices for grants and contracts on a monthly/quarterly basis as required in grant specifications
  • Prepares financial reports for department heads, Finance Director, Executive Director, and Board of Directors
  • Provides monthly reports to AAAD fiscal officer for invoicing purposes
  • Assists in preparing W2s, quarterly and year-end reports
  • Prepares budget revisions for grants and contracts
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting and principles including cost allocation
  • Assists in supervising finance staff
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP
  • Other duties assigned by Finance and Executive Director

  • Knowledge of principles of financial management and budgeting.

  • Very dependable and punctual
  • Good keyboard proficiency
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff and delegate work
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • May be required to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to multitask
  • Function and complete job duties within an office environment

The successful applicant will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and five (5) Years of Accounting Experience. CPA preferred.
